CanWeather2 App Reviews

Prices itself out of the market

Great application if it wasnt crippled by expensive features that many apps on par or better offer at no cost. Money Grab

Awesome

Way more accurate than the Weather Networks app even if they claim to be getting the data from Environment Canada. Since this is from Environment Canada I trust it a lot more.

Only because I had to!!

The ONLY reason I got this app is because, much to my disappointment, my beloved Canweather app was no longer available. It also uses environment Canada data. However, this one always loads the weather map whereas all I want to see is the forecast page for weather over the next few days. I only care to see a weather map when warnings are being forecast, and Canweather also did a much better job of displaying these for my local area. There is no option with this app that allows me to choose what info appears when I first open it. The bottom line is that it is just not a very intuitive app, especially compared with the one I was forced to abandon!

Great app

App works well and I use it regularly when expecting bad weather. I would rate it higher if I was not forced to do a rating.

Great Weather App

Use it daily, also love that it takes weather from Environment Canada so its very accurate. Must have, especially with the radar when we have bad weather.

Better than listening to the radio

The radio in the morning gives forecast for today and tonight, with this app I can make a better prediction myself.

The ONLY Canada weather!

If youre a Cdn resident, why would you use 2nd hand (and often out dated) American info on the weather? This APP uses Environment Canada data for locations throughout the country, and provides up to date, and relevant weather conditions and forecasts. Has all the "bells and whistles" one needs. Some other weather APPs may be prettier, but this one is far better.

Great use of EC information and data

Great app, good representation of Environment Canada weather information. Ive found it to be an effective and fast way to check incoming weather and forecasts. Having the radar info right up front is great.

Real weather!

I use this app, usually daily but particularly when theres bad weather expected. I works quite well and its neat to see the alerts for other areas in the country.

Amazing Canadian Weather App

This app is amazing for Canadians, as we all know everything is American based and sometimes lacks in Canada. The push notifications are entirely worth it for a quick alert. Recommend it to everyone.

By far the best out there

By far the most accurate weather app out there. Lots of extra features if your interested too, if you want to nerd out on wind speed or pollution density across or whether you just want to hit the animate button and watch the storm clouds roll in. Also, the chat program with the developers is great, any question they get back to you right away.

Used to be better

Going for daily and weekly charges.... Weak.

The only weather app I use now

So useful, so much data

Great to have radar and forecast in one place.

A little slower to load than the original, and I dont love all the in app purchase options. Id be willing to pay a little more for an app that does all those things. I use it daily.

Incorrect "feels like" temperature

The "feels like" temperature is always the same as the "actual" temperature reading. It doesnt factor in wind in the "feels like" temperature. Just because the temperature reads -25C does not mean it feels like -25 when theres 40km/hr winds. That feels more like -35C.

Old CanWeather Way Better

The radar map is incomplete and totally unreliable during storms. The old app worked perfectly so this more expensive version is a HUGE disappointment. Even after talking to developer radar problems remain.

Dangerous to Rely On During Severe Weather

I bought this app to replace the amazing Degrees app that was discontinued. The degrees app was free and was very reliable for receiving Canadian weather warnings. I would have gladly paid for that app. THIS app, however, has been junk from the beginning. In addition to a clunky, non-intuitive layout, you get to pay extra for the useless alert notification service. Thats right folks, for a ridiculous $7 more you receive about 20% (if that) of the warnings issued for your area! Of those alerts you mange to get, some are received hours after the warning has expired. Among other events, this app has failed to notifying me of a tornado warning that I was included in and a severe thunderstorm warning that resulted in widespread wind damage and power outages. The price seems slightly expensive even if it worked but this thing is a complete money-grab ripoff. Whats next for these people? Maybe $70 smoke detectors that only go off for 20% of fires and hours after your house has burned down. Luckily I managed to set up my phone to receive a text when Environment Canada tweets a warning for my region. Thats free and actually works.

Weather in the Moment

CanWeather provides real time radar info for real time planning and site specific forecasting.

NOTIFICATIONS DONT WORK

DONT GET SCAMMED!! DO NOT PAY FOR THE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION, NO SUPPORT, NOTIFICATIONS DONT WORK, WHICH IS WHY I PAID FOR THE SUB!!! GARBAGE APP!

Very good job

I love the app. Although, some regions in Canada are missing. For example: Muskoka is missing in Ontario and it would be nice to include the many lakes and rivers in Canada, as options for adding favourites. However, I will still recommend this app to anybody who has a passion for and wants to keep up with weather alerts like I do. keep up the great work.
